Candice Swanepoel was born October 20, 1988 in Mooi River, Natal Province, South Africa. At age 15 she was spotted by a model scout in a Durban flea market, and a year later she was earning more than $5000 for a day’s work. Candice has graced the covers of popular magazines including Vogue, ELLE and Ocean Drive and has been featured in advertisements for Nike, Diesel and Versus Eyewear. Swanepoel has walked runways for major fashion designers, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce and Gabbana, Shiatzy Chen, to name just a few. She is probably best known for her work with Victoria’s Secret. In 2010 she became a Victoria’s Secret Angel and on August 12, 2010 Swanepoel officially opened the first Victoria’s Secret retail store in Canada.
