In memory of Whitney Elizabeth Houston – an American singer, actress, producer and model. Cited as the most-awarded female act of all time she received a staggering 415 career awards including two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards and 22 American Music Awards. Houston was the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits and one of the world’s best-selling music artists with over 170 million albums, singles and videos sold worldwide. Unfortunately her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown. After years of controversy and turmoil she divorced Brown in 2007 and struggled to get back into music. Eventually “fate” has caught up with her. Whitney died yesterday at age 48. May she rest in peace!
